Advanced Fur Trapping

  • Location: Registered Trap Line #2472, Chip Lake, Alberta, Canada
  • Rendezvous in Wildwood, Alberta
  • Arrangements can be made to pick up participants at Edmonton International Airport

    Course Dates: December 11-15, 2008
    January 10-14, 2009
    February 7-11, 2009

    Participants should arrange to arrive the day prior to the course and depart the morning after completion

    Format:

    This is an advanced 5 day fur trapping program with an emphasis on practical, hands on field training under the guidance of certified professionals. Participants can stay on the trap line with the instructors. These accommodations will be heated wall tent camp with bunk or cot. Meals are included and all trapping and fur handling equipment is provided.

    Registered participants will receive detailed equipment list and itinerary.

    Four star rustic lodge accommodations, private cabins, hot showers, full course home cooked meals including trail lunch

    (Minimum of 4 participants per course, and a maximum of 8 to ensure quality of instruction)

    • Group will provide a suitable location for skinning and processing pelts
    • Lodging or hotel for instructor provided by the group
    • We provide all furbearers for skinning and processing; Please DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN ANIMALS TO SKIN!!

    This 3 hour program is always in high demand and provides an ideal compliment to group or corporate functions, weekend retreats and tour packages of all type and demographics

    Our venue is the main lodge at the Strathcona Wilderness Centre located only 20 minutes east of Edmonton.

The format of the program is casual with questions and audience participation encouraged throughout the presentation.
